Nutrition Services Department
The Nutrition Services department at OCMC has a Registered Dietician on staff. Each patient is screened for nutritional risks during their admission, and a nutritional intervention is initiated to optimize the patients medical nutrition therapy, if necessary, and promote healing. Nutrient and drug interactions, which could affect the patients recovery, are closely monitored. Medical nutrition therapy is available by physicians' orders, as well as through outpatient services.
The foodservice staff serves meals to patients, as well as customers who avail themselves of the well prepared foods served daily in the cafeteria. Also therapeutic menu selections can be discussed in the cafeteria.
The catering department prepares food for weddings, holiday events, civic organizations, church functions, banquet meals, and more.
