Ambulance/Ambulance Service

The Ouachita County Medical Center Ambulance Service is a team of EMS personnel that is ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The team answers approximately 3,000 calls per year and consists of State of Arkansas and Nationally registered Paramedics, Intermediate EMTs, and Basic EMTs. OCMC has 5 ambulances that are Advanced Life Support and 2 that are Basic Life Support.

This hospital based ambulance service has paramedics and intermediates on duty that is certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS). The paramedics are also trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Advanced Airway Management.

Paramedic ambulances are equipped with the latest defibrillators, pulse oximeters, glucometers, intubation equipment, oxygen delivery devices (including portable ventilators), equipment for spinal immobilization and wound and shock management, and medications that can be used for cardiac emergencies and pain management.

All of our ambulances are inspected and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health yearly.
