Senior Care Unit

OCMC's in-patient Geriatric Psychiatric program offers treatment to senior adults at times of mental health crises. This specialized program is designed for senior adults experiencing behavorial changes such as:

Depression

Dementia

Psychosis

Anxiety Disorder

Alzheimer's Disease

Paranoia

OCMC's Senior Care Program treats the individual patient's needs physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. In a highly supportive environment, patients participate in an individually planned course of treatment. This treatment combines individual, family and group therapy with group activities. From the initial evaluation to discharge planning, our goal is the same . . . treat the whole person and assist them in working toward their fullest potential.

A patient's treatment does not end when they leave our facility. After Care plays an important role in our comprehensive program. To ensure a patients continuing care, our staff conducts sessions on-site at the hospital or travels to the patient's nursing home or skilled nursing facility.

Physicians, health professionals and family members can refer patients to OCMC's Senior Care program. A confidential consultation is available at no charge. Consultations may be provided in the person's home or at the hospital. Staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist senior adults and their families.
