Ouachita County Medical Center, a 98 bed acute care hospital, is a non profit facility, governed by a Board of Directors. OCMC is affiliated with Quorum Health Resources, Inc., through a consulting contract.

The active medical staff at OCMC consists of 22 active staff members and approximately 20 consulting staff members. The active medical staff specialties include an Ob-Gyn specialist, two General Surgeons, four Internal Medicine, Pathologists, Radiologists, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, an Opthamologist, a Urologist, a Hematology/Oncology specialist, and a number of Family Practice and General Practice Physicians.
 
OCMC offers many services not usually found in communities of its size. Some of these services include: a 23 bed Chemical Dependency Unit, a Geriatric psychiatric Unit, a state-of-the-art Day Surgery Center, Valley Oaks Rehabilitation & Senior Living (an orthopedic and physical rehabilitation center), Ouachita Daily Living Center (an adult day care center), Doctor's Home Care (home health services), Healthware (medical equipment rental), The Meal Mobile (a home delivered meal program), hospice services, three rural clinics that service the Chidester, Sparkman and Stephens communities, a number of public education programs, several support groups and Ouachita County's only ambulance service. OCMC also serves the community by providing the emergency 911 service for Ouachita County.
 
OCMC has modern and state-of-the-art equipment including a new Elscint CT Scanner, Diasonic Ultra-sound, Nuc alear Medicine equipment, a full body Bone Densitometer, ThermaChoice (balloon therapy), a Harmonic Scalpel and a MRI. Renovations were recently made to the Radiology Department and other areas of the hospital. The hospital has a newly constructed MRI Center and a newly constructed Conference & Education Center.
 
OCMC recently became involved in the Rural Hospital Educational & Telemedicine Program. Fiberoptics, cameras, microphones and monitors, housed in the W.K. Green Conference & Education Center, links OCMC directly to University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Department. The equipment is utilized to offer a host of educational classes, conferences and symposiums to staff and the general public.

OCMC is fully licensed by the State of Arkansas and all of its services are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. The Home Health, Hospice and Chemical Dependency Programs are also individually accredited by JCAHO.
