Ambulance Service
An around-the-clock EMS team answers approximately 2,800 dispatches per year. The team consists of EMT Paramedics, Intermediates and Basics. Six of seven ambulances are fully equipped meeting the requirements for an Advanced Life Support ambulance (ALS). Staffing for our
ALS ambulances are National Registered Paramedics and Intermediates. Paramedics are certified in ACLS and NALS. Equipment on board our Paramedic ALS ambulances are defibrillators, pulse oximeters, glucometers, various drugs for cardiac emergencies, intubation equipment, oxygen therapy (including portable ventilators), spinal immobilization equipment and shock & wound management. All ambulances are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health annually.
Cardiopulmonary Services
Licensed therapists and technicians provide treatment in all aspects of respiratory therapy with the most advanced techniques and state of the art equipment. A full spectrum of diagnostic services ranging from ECG, 24 hour Holter monitoring, 30 day event monitoring, cardiolite and thallium cardiac stresstesting, EEG studies, complete pulmonary function studies and pulmonary stress testing are also available.
Emergency Room Services
OCMC's emergency room features a team of specialized physicians and nurses who treat approximately 1,200 patients each month. Our nursing staff is Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal
Advanced Support and audited Advanced Trauma Life Support trained. Surgical consultations are readily available. The ER features three exam rooms, two clinical exam rooms, two trauma rooms, a cast room and a holding area that will accommodate three stretcher patients. Specialized equipment includes TPA Life (delivering an immediate EKG response), cardiac monitors ready for defibrillation in a matter of seconds and a triage system.
G.I. Lab
Our G.I. Lab features two large, fully-equipped endoscopy room furnished with state-of-the-art equipment. For the convenience of our patients and medical staff, the rooms are located adjacent to the Operating Room and Day Surgery Center.
