Ambulance/Ambulance Service The Ouachita County Medical Center Ambulance Service is a team of EMS personnel that is ready to respond 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The team will answer approximately 3,000 call a year and consist of State of Arkansas and Nationally registered Paramedics, Intermediate EMTs, and Basic EMTs. We have 5 ambulances that are Advanced Life Support and 2 that are Basic Life Support. This hospital based ambulance service has paramedics and intermediates on duty that are certified in advanced life support. The paramedics are also trained and certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), neonatal advanced life support (NALS) and advanced airway management. Paramedic ambulances are equipped with the latest defibrillators, pulse oximeters, glucometers, intubation equipment, oxygen delivery devices (including portable ventilators), equipment for spinal immobilization and wound and shock management, and drugs that can be used for cardiac emergencies and pain management. All of our ambulances are inspected and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health each year. |
